CONVERSION TO ORGANIC FARMING

Since 2017, GrandAngoulême has been committed to supporting farmers seeking to convert to organic agriculture, with its undeniable benefits for biodiversity and water resources.
Any agricultural business in the GrandAngoulême region may therefore benefit from an initial survey prior to individual conversion, carried out in partnership with the Maison de l’Agriculture Biologique de la Charente [Charente Centre for Organic Farming].

THE COMMITMENT OF THE COGNAC SECTOR TO ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATION

The first step is to carry out a survey of farming techniques for each holding. By late 2018, some thirty wine-growers had completed this first step, i.e. 25% of the vineyards in the area.
This task is overseen by the National Inter-profession Office for Cognac.

Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI)

  • Packaging thanks to the presence of companies in the agro-food and luxury sectors.
  • Cultural and Creative Industries in the fields of animation and digital technology.
  • Major Industries and Mecatronics with the presence of key players in the region.
  • Spirits with world-renowned cognac and its outstanding vineyards.
